Frequently Asked Questions
What level of physical fitness is required for a Long Week Trip?
Our Long Week Trips are generally categorized as Moderate to Challenging. While you don’t need to be an elite athlete, participants should be comfortable hiking or trekking for 5-7 hours per day with a daypack. We recommend a consistent routine of cardiovascular exercise (like running or cycling) in the months leading up to the trip.
What is typically included in the trip price?
The trip price is comprehensive for everything from the moment you meet the group until the final farewell. It generally includes:
All accommodation (lodges, guesthouses, or quality camping).
All meals during the trip (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).
Permits and park entrance fees.
The services of a professional local guide and support staff.
All planned ground transportation.
It does not typically include international flights, travel insurance, or tips for the guides.
What happens if the weather causes a delay or route change?
Safety is our highest priority. Our guides are trained to handle adverse weather conditions. If the weather requires a change, we will implement a pre-planned contingency route or adjust the schedule to ensure the safety and comfort of the group. No refunds are generally issued for weather-related changes beyond our control, which is why comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for these longer trips.
How much luggage can I bring, and how is it transported?
For our Long Week Trips, your main luggage is typically transported between overnight locations by support vehicles or porters. You will only need to carry a small daypack containing water, snacks, raingear, and personal items. We will provide a detailed packing list that specifies luggage weight limits (usually around $15\text{ kg}$ per person for the main bag).
Are there opportunities for rest days or personal exploration?
Yes, the itinerary is designed to include a dedicated rest day around the mid-point of the week (usually Day 4 or 5). These days often feature lighter activities, optional short hikes, or free time to explore the local area, relax, and do laundry.
